Couples Therapy in Bethesda, MD & Miami, FL

Are You Looking To Heal And Revitalize Your Relationship Through Christ?

Do you and your partner or spouse work, parent, and worship side by side, yet feel miles apart?

Have chronic communication issues, unresolved conflicts, or feelings of loneliness—even resentment—become routine obstacles in your relationship?

Perhaps you feel so stressed out around each other (or within your own self) that you can’t sleep at night, focus at work, or just get things done like you used to.

Or maybe you've invested in couples therapy as a way to rebuild trust, improve intimacy, and simply revitalize your marriage while reconnecting with God’s sacred design for your union.

Why Merely Coping With Relationship Issues Isn’t Effective

When conflict and distance take root in a relationship, daily life can become a cycle of walking on eggshells, where you either avoid meaningful conversations or watch them erupt in conflict. Even with the best intentions and the most valiant efforts, simple decisions and innocent requests might spark arguments or cause one partner to shut down.

Just the idea of spending quality time together can start to feel out of reach or pointless—even stressful—so intimacy, both emotional and physical, takes a hit. Over time, hopelessness sets in, making it hard to reflect Christ's love in the most sacred relationship God designed.

If you’re suffering, there is a way to bridge your disconnection and breathe new life into your relationship. With my clinical expertise and spiritual guidance, couples counseling can show you and your partner how to share your lives in ways that reflect Christ and foster a mutual sense of respect, consideration, and compassion that doesn’t fade so easily.

Modern Life Presents Profound Challenges For Christian Couples

The relationships we build don’t exist in a vacuum—they’re constantly being influenced by powerful forces. Busy schedules, financial pressure, social media comparison, and unrealistic romantic expectations seen in TV shows and movies all strain marriages.

Unfortunately, for a lot of couples—especially those in the Christian community—pride, shame, and fear of judgment can easily get in the way of seeking therapy. Societal messages that over-emphasize self-sufficiency convince us that we’re obligated to single-handedly solve all of our own problems.

Women are historically taught to sacrifice their own needs or conform to rigid cultural standards, so they simply learn to suffer in silence. At the same time, church culture tends to only interpret adversity as a spiritual challenge, overlooking the broad spectrum of lived experiences that shape how we show up in relationships.

The truth is, without proper tools rooted in both clinical insight and biblical guidance, cycles often repeat and distance grows-—no matter how steadfast your faith is. With couples counseling, you’re getting the support you deserve combined with the skills and insight you need to improve communication, reignite intimacy, and revitalize your relationship or marriage through Christ.

Couples Therapy Can Show You How To Honor God Through Each Other

Faith, prayer, scripture, the church—these are all sacred aspects of a Christian’s identity and worldview. Traditional secular couples therapists often overlook this core truth, so therapy isn’t really taking into account the whole individual. That’s where Reset Wellness Center is different.

As a clinically trained mental health therapist, I can incorporate Scripture and your deepest beliefs into therapy while offering insight from an informed clinical perspective. Together, we can work on healing the hurt, resolving differences, and reinforcing your bond in ways that truly honor each other.

What Do We Talk About In Christian Couples Counseling?

As Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us, God has a plan for your future—including your marriage. My role is to help you and your partner build toward that God-honoring vision together. To do that, I’ll start by meeting with each of you separately to get your candid perspective on things and to familiarize myself with you as individuals first.

From there, you and your partner will work together as a team as we explore various relationship dynamics, such as:

  • Communication patterns and attachment styles

  • Family-of-origin wounds and childhood experiences

  • Contrasts in cultural norms, gender roles, and parenting styles

  • The impact of financial stress, extended family, and the church community

  • Each person’s conflict cycles, love language, and intimacy barriers

My role is to identify each partner's deeper emotional needs beneath surface arguments, enabling us to treat the real issue fueling conflict. Together, we’ll set long-term goals shaped by your values, faith, and ideal vision of your union—creating a shared roadmap toward lasting connection, trust, and a covenant-honoring relationship.

Some Of The Tools I Use In Counseling To Help Couples Reset

Many couples struggle for years before reaching out to a therapist, so they’re often worried their marriage or relationship is at the point of no return. But that’s one of the things I love most about this work. Patterns that have existed for years, even decades, can shift when both partners gain insight and new tools. The brain is remarkably adaptable, and so are relationships.

The Lord tells us in Ezekiel 36:26 that He can give us "a new heart and new spirit." I believe that same transformative power applies to restoring marriages and relationships. Using therapeutic strategies like The Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), you’ll gain essential relationship skills for:

De-escalating arguments and actively listening to your partner.

Recognizing and interrupting negative interaction cycles.

Expressing deeper emotional needs/responding from a place of understanding

Rebuilding trust and repairing the relationship after conflict

Nurturing your core sense of friendship, intimacy, love, and support

Ultimately, I want to teach you how to strengthen your connection not just from a romantic standpoint—but in all areas of life so you’re tackling problems as partners rather than adversaries.

A Cord Of Three Strands Is Not Quickly Broken (Ecclesiastes 4:12)

I know you’re worried and hurting, but your relationship is not too far gone. "With God all things are possible" (Matt. 19:26)—including restoration. God designed your union for profound connection—a relationship bound by covenant. Reaching out and asking for support is one of the bravest acts of love there is! Healing is possible, and you don’t have to navigate that journey alone.
